Definitions

Ra-di-cal (adj)
Favoring or effecting fundamental or revolutionary changes in current practices, conditions, or institutions

Queer (adj)
Offensive/Re-claimed term referring to gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered individuals.  It is both an umbrella term, and one that implies a challenge to the idea that gender and sexuality are part of the essential self.  Queer (as in Queer Theory) examines the socially constructed nature of identities, which manifests in larger societal dynamics of privilege & oppression.

Radical + Queer

These terms combined define the politics and perspective of Pants-Off Productions.  To us, being a Radical Queer Production Company means understanding the construction and fluidity of identities, and the privilege & oppression involved.  We strive to create anti-oppression space for our audience, performers and volunteers.  Additionally, we hope to empower our communities to create art, to inspire each other, and to change the world one performance at a time.
