History
Pants-Off
Production was founded in Portland, Oregon in October, 2007 by Max
Voltage & Jodi Bon Jodi. While on a road-trip home from the International Drag King-Community Extravaganza (IDKE) in Vancouver, Canada, Max & Jodi visioned a
Circus-Themed night of vaudevillian genderfuck, and thus
Freakshow-a-Go-Go came into being, and was Pants-Off Productions' inaugural project. Freakshow-a-Go-Go happened in PDX in May 2008 and brought together over 50 performers from all over
the
country including performers from Chicago, Oakland, Santa Fe and
Austin as well as local performers. FAGG has since traveled to Austin, Texas in May 2009 and Seattle, Washington in 2010.
Post-Freakshow, Pants-Off Productions was catalyzed by the Fertile Grounds Festival of New-Works, and as part of that, produced Kick/Ball/Change, a dance showcase. Kick/Ball/Change was such a success that POP expanded it into a three-part series. Soon-after, Pants-Off Productions began an annual dance-off tradition in July 2009 with Homo's Got Talent, which continues to happen every year! Pants-Off Produces Homomentum, a queer cabaret series, which began in Fall of 2009, and is now in its 3rd season. As of Fall 2010, Pants-Off Productions is run solely by Max Voltage (see bio below), with the help of an amazing support of volunteers and queer community. See the Projects section for more info on all these exciting creative projects! Bio
